Halloween 2012

Here is a picture of all of us Halloween night.

You're probably wondering why I have so many pictures of us
in our costumes. It's because I made them and my Maleficent
costume below (don't look too close at all the bad sewing).
But I've never sewed a costume to this extent before
and I was pretty proud of myself. Hence all the photos.
We are Mordecai and Rigby from a cartoon called
Regular Show. It's one of Riley's favorites.

Here's some of the kids in their costumes.
Carti as Katniss. Sadie as Jasmine (her second costume) and Bennett
as a pilot.
Alyssa was a Zombie soccer player (she loves soccer, can you tell)?
Cade as Yoda and Taylee is Dracula. Then there's Sadie in her
first costume Supergirl and then there's a picture of the
kids playing Just Dance at my halloween party.

Here's my homemade Maleficent costume. And I'm
standing in front of my homemade haunted house.
Thanks to Lynsey for doing my hair and makeup and letting
me use her house and to Kelli for making my horns.

Gotta have a treat table. This year I did owl cupcakes, chocolate dipped strawberries,
caramel apples dipped in oreos and butterfinger, reeses broomsticks,
frankenstein marshmallows, mummy juiceboxes, and gummy worms and spiders.

Here's a peek into my haunted house that only Cade was scared of. It was a
little scarier in the dark with the black light, fog machine, scary music, and witch head
telling you your fortune (or whatever she says).

Here's a group photo at my Halloween party. It was a lot of work
but a lot of fun with the kids. Definitely worth it.
We missed Kinsley, Kenyon, Beckam and Jude!
Hope you had a fun Halloween!!!!

Summer 2012

So I'm trying to catch up on blogging today. Time is moving to quickly.
I swear it was just Summer and now it's November!
Here is some pictures from this my Grandma's funeral this
Summer. It was great to see so many friends and family that
I haven't seen in a long time. The funeral felt so peaceful.
It was fun listening to my Dad and his childhood friends
talk about the old days.

We also got out and did some camping this year. My cousin Natalie
and her family came and My sister Kelli and her family. And my other
cousin Teresa and her boys came and also Riley's sister Kaydee.
I was such a fun group. I'm so glad we went since we don't go very often. It was a lot of fun.

My whole family was here for the funeral and so we decided
to go out to St. George and stay for fourth of July. They have the best firework
show that we watched from a cliff by my parents house. And
we went to Vegas for like an hour to pick up Skyler from the airport.
But I didn't get to the casino to win any money which was disappointing.
I guess when Laurie comes for Christmas we'll have to add that to
the agenda..... eh Lars :)

We got family pictures done on both sides of the family this summer.
As you can tell me and Riley's families are a bit different.
Mostly the noise level in the houses are different.

God be with you till we meet again...

Just wanted my friends who grew up with me to know that my Grandma Moss passed away yesterday. She was 89 and surrounded by three generations of children by her side. She will be very missed but we are happy that she's back with her parents and husband. We did the math and she hasn't seen her mom in 73 years. So it was definitely bittersweet. I feel so privileged to have grown up next door to her. She was a second mom to me and my sisters and we will miss her everyday. On the bright side Laurie had already planned a trip out here (for 3 weeks yay!) and flew in last night and Jenny's family is flying in tonight so all of our family gets to be here for the funeral. We also get to take a little trip together to St. George so that will be fun. It sounds like the funeral will be next Monday the 9th and the viewing will be Sunday night the 8th at Lindquist Mortuary in Layton. I'll post the obituary and stuff so people who want to come can have the details. Love you all! -Haylie

We had another fun trip to Moab last week. We hit the Steel Bender trail, the Hell's Revenge trail, and Fins n' Things trail this year. It was a lot of fun.

Happy Birthday Alyssa!

This year Kelli and Eric had Alyssa's birthday party at Color Me Mine. It's a place in Ogden that lets you pick your own ceramic thing to paint. This is basically a perfect idea for Alyssa. I've never met a kid that is so into crafts and creating. And of course her friends loved it too (don't even get me started on how much Taylee loved it). It was a very fun afternoon. I can't believe Alyssa is already 8!

McCartnie got a ceramic bucket of french fries bank.
Fries has been Carti's favorite food since she was real little
so we thought this was hilariously perfect for her.

Taylee picked a four wheeler bank. Also really
perfect for her because she loves riding on
the four wheeler and she's more boy than girl (although
she loves wearing pink). The lady even said "I don't think
I've ever seen a girl pick that one". Typical Taylee.
 She probably fully painted it
about three times. It ended up being a very colorful
four wheeler. She LOVED this party and the whole
birthday weekend she kept making pictures
for Alyssa and doing whatever she could to
make her big sister's bday special.
She is a very sweet sister.

Alyssa and some of the other girls picked this cute cupcake.
The top comes off so you can put jewelry or something
else inside. Alyssa is already a pro at crafts and of
course it was painted perfectly with purple frosting,
pink sprinkles and brown wrapper with pink polka dots.

Avery picked a cute puppy bank. Avery is our cousin
Natalie's daughter and her and Alyssa are in the
same class and are best friends. They are so
cute together!

As I said, very colorful!

Happy girls.

Alyssa has such a fun group of friends.
Reagan (the little girl in purple) is Kelli's best
friend Susan's daughter and she is hilarious.
I could listen to her talk in her little lisp all day.

We made these cute little 8's on the cricut and
folded some cute scrapbook paper for the liners.

Alyssa cheesing it.

We forgot to bring matches so this is a picture
of  Alyssa pretending to blow out her candle.
I told her that the picture looked so realistic
that she should be an actress.

Happy Valentines

I hope everyone had a fun Valentines day. Riley and I broke tradition this year and had dinner at PF Changs because the awesome couple I work for gave me a $50 gift card. Since we've been together we've gone to Gabor Bros in Layton but I figure living in a new city you need to start new traditions and PF Changs was delicious. So I would say it was a successful Valentines day.
I decided to digitally make my Valentines this year since I have all these cute valentine digital scrapbook stuff that I needed to use. The boy valentine you'll probably recognize because I copied it from pinterest. And the girl valentine I made from my cute owl/valentine digital scrapbook kit from Snowflake Beach Designs. It's so easy to make things digitally than by hand for me that I'll probably never make a valentine by hand again. So anyways happy Valentines Day friends and family!! I hope it was a special one!
